The State of Solutionreach and Technology in Utah

Posted on Jan 31, 2018 by Rebecca Curtis

This is a guest post from our social media expert, Rebecca Curtis.

Attending conferences is important to build skillsHeadquartered in Lehi, UT, Solutionreach entered 2018 ready for innovation as a leader in the HealthTech industry. Utah is no stranger to having leaders in technology nestled within the reach of the Wasatch Front.

On January 18-19, 14,000 participants met in Salt Lake City to discuss technology and the future of technology in Utah. Nonprofit organization Silicon Slopes held their annual Tech Summit with some of the largest names across the industry arriving in Utah to speak. Not familiar with Silicon Slopes? According to their website, “Silicon Slopes is a nonprofit organization that exists to empower Utah’s tech community to learn, connect, and serve in order to make entrepreneurship open and accessible to all.”

Solutionreach is proud to be a member of this organization and to help further the empowerment of the tech community, not just here in Utah, but in the health industry, and all over the nation.

As Social Media Coordinator, I was able to attend both days of the Tech Summit alongside members of the Solutionreach Product & Development, and Engineering teams. It was amazing to attend sessions where powerhouse speakers like Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield, and CMO of Beats by Dre, Omar Johnson inspired the entire crowd. The breakout sessions were on various topics and we were able to participate in classes focused on marketing, creative, and more.

The second day was opened by the highly anticipated speaker Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor and 2012 Presidential Candidate. Romney brought charm and wit as he spoke about his past in finance, business, dealing with failure, as well as personal and public setbacks. Romney also touched on why Utah is a strong place for technology and why technology is important for innovation stating that “...this is the time for innovation.”

After listening to so many outstanding leaders across a large variety of industries come together and declare their support for technology, it was no surprise when Utah’s Governor Gary Herbert took the stage to declare more financial support toward technology education. It's wonderful to see his support for Utah to grow and continue to be a leader in all the areas touched by technology.

Among the leaders of technology at Tech Summit 2018, Solutionreach fit right in. As the first company to Solutionreach is stepping into the futuresend a SMS message in Healthcare, CEO Jim Higgins has made sure that Solutionreach has kept innovating. Pushing a small idea into a large platform where providers can communicate and connect with their patients through automation, appointment reminders, newsletters, and this past year: two-way messaging through SR Conversations.

As time marches forward and technology continues to develop, the most important focus at Solutionreach is making sure that our customers (YOU!) have the tools they need to reach, communicate, and connect with their patients. Reflecting on the many obstacles and natural disasters of 2017, there are so many ways to constantly be improving to help each provider achieve their goals and help their patients. The driving force of all innovation at Solutionreach is, and will always be, the people we work with and care about.

Heraclitus had it right when he said, “change is the only constant” and in the health-tech industry we know this to be 100 percent true. The new ideas and creativity in the industry are happening every single day. Throughout these changes, Solutionreach will continue to be there, making sure the providers have the tools they need.
