As a company, we are committed to supporting and contributing to various charitable organizations everywhere. Every year, the company chooses a charitable organization to support, engages in a month-long effort to raise money for their cause and that effort culminates in what we call the Solutionrun where employees choose a level of participation be it a10K, 5k, half marathon, an open course or a kids fun run. Participants can bike, run, walk, skip, skate, whatever their favorite form of traveling is, to reach the finish line where the total number of miles traveled between all participants is added up and a per mile donation is made to the designated charity.
During the 4 weeks leading up to the run, employees are divided into teams and “compete” in raising money with what we call the “Coin War.” This can get brutal. The goal of each team during the war is to raise the most money in coins. Dollar bills of course are happily accepted and the 2 totals are added together at the end of the war, however the total “dollar” amount gets subtracted from the coin total and the differences are then compared to determine the victorious team. During the war, there are various fundraising activities that go on in the office to encourage donations, promote unity and to have fun! Always the highlight of the year!
