Here’s How It Works

Simply forward your practice line to your own local MedXCom number and your callers will hear your fully customizable phone tree. The system offers an optional General Mailbox for routine calls, like appointment requests and billing questions, and routes them to a voice mailbox for you or your staff to review.

For urgent calls, MedXCom first confirms the patient’s callback number and has them state their name and briefly describe their reason for the call. The on-call provider is then contacted in one of three ways, depending on their self-managed call rules:

  1. Phone Call: while the patient waits on hold, the provider hears their recorded message before accepting or declining the call
  2. Text Notification: a text is sent to the provider alerting them of an urgent message, which they can retrieve in the app via recorded message or voice-to-text transcription
  3. Live Operator: a US-based live agent will triage the call based on the provider’s instructions

All calls made in to and out of the MedXCom platform can be recorded and archived for 23 years and are accessible at any time.
