Lehi, Utah: Solutionreach, Inc. was recently recognized as one of Utah’s Best Companies to Work For by Utah Business Magazine, the administering organization for the annual competition. Utah Business honored Solutionreach at the Best Companies to Work For awards luncheon on December 12, 2013.
Competing Utah businesses participate in a set of surveys with questions focused around things like internal growth opportunities, the culture of the company, management, compensation and other benefits. Upon submission, one survey is given to the company’s Human Resource or Corporate department, and the other is distributed to company employees. Responses to the surveys are scored using a point system, with the highest-ranking companies earning their place on the list of Utah’s Best Companies to Work For.
The results put Solutionreach in the group of 35 companies to be given the Utah Business award, deeming them one of the best places to work in Utah. Solutionreach then placed within the top three in an online follow-up competition that asked Facebook viewers to vote, and the company was featured on one of the December 2013 covers for Utah Business magazine.
Solutionreach found success through developing innovative technology, which has given employees the unique opportunity to put their ideas to work. “Not every idea pans out, but when we empower employees to run with their ideas we are cultivating innovation”, says Jim Higgins, Founder and CEO of Solutionreach. “Having the passion is what brought them here, but the freedom to tap into that passion is what keeps them here - and it’s also what makes us successful.”
Solutionreach is touted for supporting the best interests of its employees both in and out of their work lives. With growth opportunities and incentive programs, employees are encouraged to be successful on a professional level. In addition to ten yearly paid holidays, the 15 days of paid time off that employees receive during the first year with the company increases annually and begins on the first day of employment. The company promotes the personal well being of its employees with excellent medical/dental/vision coverage, an Employee Assistance Program offers employees no-cost work/life balance support, and a 401(K) matching program to encourage long term financial success.
The number of employees has nearly doubled since the end of 2012, and they continue to recruit bright, enthusiastic personalities to join their tight-knit culture. Solutionreach feels that keeping its employees happy is critical to their motivation and the company’s success. Bagel Tuesdays; bottomless soda machines and candy jars; team lunches; company outings; and monthly birthday lunches are among the benefits outside of the regular employee programs. The fourth floor of their Lehi location hosts a full on-site gym and a large break area with kitchen amenities; indoor basketball; pool, ping pong and foosball tables; couches and beanbag chairs; and video games to play on the big screen TVs.
“I’m not sure how many people jump out of bed in the morning excited to come to work…but we do”, Karmen Sanford, HR Manager for Solutionreach, told Utah Business Magazine. “If someone has to go to work, there’s nowhere they’d rather be than Solutionreach.”
Solutionreach is interested in maintaining a philanthropic presence that strives to make a difference. A Charitable Donation matching program is available to employees, and they participate in an annual Day of Service to support a cause in place of the normal workday. 2013 included a month long series of events (like a 5-10K run and a company Coin Crusade) in which they raised over $20,000 to donate to CURE Childhood Cancer. A blood drive for Red Cross during their annual Wellness Week, Sub for Santa, and holiday food drives were among other successful charitable efforts put on by Solutionreach during the year.
